Eligibility
CIF Rules: The CIF bylaws set the following minimum requirements for sports eligibility for all high school students. In order to participate in interscholastic sports, you must:
1. Pass 20 semester periods of work the previous
grading period.
2. Be currently enrolled in 20 semester periods
of work.
3. Be meeting "progress toward graduation" requirements.
4. Maintain a 2.0 grade point average (GPA)
on a 4.0 scale.
If you do not meet requirements 3 and 4, you will be placed on probation for one quarter (9 weeks). You may not be on probation for two consecutive periods. Further, if your GPA is 1.5 or lower, you may not participate, even on probation. An eligibility period begins when report cards are distributed after each quarter.
Junior High students will be subject to the same eligibility standards as our High School students.
Liberty Rules: In addition to the CIF rules for eligibility, Liberty
has set the following standard for participation in any athletic
event:
The Administration reserves the right to
declare any student ineligible whenever
his participation is deemed seriously detrimental
to his academic achievement.
Because athletes are observed and admired by others (especially younger students) it is very important that you maintain a Christian testimony and witness in every game and practice.
Accordingly, the Administration and the
Athletic Director reserve the right to remove you from any team,
temporarily
or permanently, whenever your conduct,
attitude, or language jeopardizes that testimony and witness.
